What your day looks like
Check in at the Kiss&Ride meeting point at Wielopole 2, 10 minutes before your booked time. Travel to Oświęcim in an air-conditioned vehicle. Departures run between 5:30 and 11:30 — you receive your exact pickup time by message the afternoon before.
Walk through the preserved exhibition halls, barracks and other buildings with your guide, who explains how the camp operated and what daily life and death here meant for those imprisoned.
A short ride takes you to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the far larger part of the complex.
See the watchtowers, the railway line, the remains of the camp and the memorials. The scale of Birkenau is something photographs never quite convey.

Good to know before you go

Documents: Bring a valid ID or passport. The name on your booking must match your document exactly — the Museum checks names at entry for security.

Weather: Up to 70% of the visit is outdoors, especially at Birkenau. Dress for the weather and bring water on warm days.

Bags: Backpacks and bags larger than 30 × 20 × 10 cm are not allowed inside the Museum. Larger bags can stay in the locked vehicle.

Children: A visit can be emotionally difficult. The Museum recommends visitors be at least 14 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Security: Expect an airport-style security check at the entrance.

Conduct: Out of respect, eating, smoking and loud behaviour are not permitted inside the Memorial. Photography is allowed in most areas, but never with flash inside the buildings.
